A view often expressed is that life and the universe itself is 'evolutionary' and chaotic. Consequently any globally rational response to global climate-change exists only on paper, if at all. This tends to be a response led by economists and followed by various agents-provocateurs.
Over 25 years, the climate-change negotiations at the UNFCCC appear to prove this, but with the unstated cost to us all that dangerous rates of climate change will thus not be avoided and the 6th great extinction, presently under way, will become a self-fulfilling prophecy within a few generations.
Does everyone think like that? I don't know. But if that were the only truth that can be brought to bear, then indeed we should just have fun, when and if we can, until we are all overcome by the requiems that will surely come to be sung as this chaos plays out.
However, there is evidence that order manifests out of chaos. A most bewitching example of this is in the orbits of the Earth and Venus around the Sun. As our 'Solar System' formed billions of years ago, a remarkable 'evo-solutionary' stability in the 3-body problem manifested within this.
For want of a word, this is 'miraculous'. Known sometimes as the 'Pentadance' of Venus, it is suffused with the 'Golden Section' [0.618] - the source code of proportionality in all nature - and it is mathematically true whichever body is at the centre, as this 'Penrose' animation shows.
For us to meet the objective of the UNFCCC and deliver an important part of avoiding the 6th great extinction, we have roughly 5 eight-earth-year-cycles [40 years] left to deliver the full-term Contraction-and-Convergence event needed for that 'UNFCCC-compliance'.
If the Universe exhibits this awesome 'natural-orderliness', if musicians can evolve and grow over Centuries because of this 'natural order', then the case for stability in chaos, constitution in evolution, is shown, but only humans have the capacity to decide our future now.
This Penrose pattern will play out in the Heavens throughout and beyond, however we decide, as it has been doing for billions of years already.
