SLIDER & the 'UNITS' of the SLIDER POSITIONS [+40 to -40].

With this slider, users have a range of choices with emissions levels going above or below the 'carbon-emissions-budget' chosen.

There are the: -

  1. Slider 'zero position' which equals the budget chosen with concentrations at CAF 50 along the path-integral 2010 to 2110.

  2. 40 incremental and equal steps that are positive, or going above zero, for the budget chosen, where the maximum position equals concentrations at CAF 100 in 2110, and

  3. 40 incremental and equal steps that are negative, or going below zero for the budget chosen, where the minimum position equals concentrations at CAF 0 in in 2110.

In Domain One - Contraction & Concentrations - this makes the slider is a key part of CBAT's 'user-control'.

Slider-use varies the putative feedback consequences of the basic choice of the 'emissions-budget' where an increasing [positive] or a decreasing [negative] fraction of the tonnes of carbon that are added to or subtracted from the budget are added to or subtracted from the concentrations, expressed as both weight in Gt C and in the PPMV equivalent.

CLOCK for BUDGET-WEIGHTs

Budget-weights include the feedback emissions that emerge and the integral of these [2010 -2110] are shown in Gt C in the Budget-Control slider, here set at position 'zero'.

All varied emissions, concentrations, temperature, sea-level rise and ocean acidity readings are driven off the use of this 'control-feature'. This control remains active even when Domain One is moved left in favour of Domain-Two [Contraction & Convergence] or Domain Three [Contraction & Conversion] or Domain Four [Damages and Growth].
